Herlikin's Song

By Mainecoon

Something a little different in the realms of fanfiction, this time it's a song, sent to me by Mainecoon, a recent reader of the fic who is currently producing a little art as well! She says:

It came to me while I was pondering Herlikin's.... Herliness? ;-) I think it sounds like something she might sing. Anyway, here it is in case you want to use it for a fanfic or something (I've got a friend who does that)

Ringlets of silver will run down my back
When I am old, when I am old.
Will I then sorrow when sorrow I lack
When I am old as a willow?

I will be with you wherever you go
Though I am old, though I am old.
Will you carress me with hands soft as snow
Though I am old as a willow?

I'll kiss your sweet lips as I hear the wind weep
'Til I am old, 'til I am old.
Will you forgive me for secrets I keep
'Til I am old as a willow?

I shall dance at my death, mocking death as I die
When I am old, when I am old.
And if I can't dance, dearest love, will you cry
Because I am old as a willow?
